Indonesia is a country where most of its territory is ocean. octopus and squid from the genus Cephalopoda are examples of many high-value marine products, as well as their ink which is known to have various benefits including bioactive compounds for antibacterial properties. Apart from that, global problems are being faced in developing and developed countries, one of which is is a side effect of antibiotics. Infectious diseases caused by bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus can cause staphylococcus food poisoning, bacteremia, endocarditis, acute hematogenous osteomyelitis, pneumonia, meningitis, abscesses that can spread throughout the body. Staphylococcus aureus has developed resistance to antibiotics. So the alternative is to use materials that come from nature, namely by using squid ink extract (Loligo sp.) and octopus ink extract (Octopus sp.). This research aims to determine the inhibitory power of the ink extract against Staphycoccus aureus bacteria. This research is a true experimental laboratory research with six treatments. Each treatment was repeated four times with varying concentrations of 100%, 75%, 50% and 25% with tetracycline as a positive control and distilled water as a negative control. Data analysis using statistical Anova analysis. The average diameter of the most effective and largest inhibition zone for squid extract at a concentration of 100% was 17.75 mm, and for octopus ink extract the largest at a concentration of 100% was 15.75 mm, and for each concentration of 25% no bacterial inhibition zone was formed. The results showed that squid ink and octopus ink extracts had the ability to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus as seen by the clear zone formed around the disc. The greater the concentration used, the greater the level of effectiveness of Kepok banana peel vinegar as an antibacterial for Staphylococcus aureus, with the most effective concentration being 100%.
